What is the difference between Textured linen, Heritage Linen,Linen and Shantung fabrics?
The Textured linens are a textured open weave fabric with a relatively coarse thread and a bit more rugged for an informal look. The Heritage linen is also a coarse thread, in a tight weave for a more traditional look. The Linen is a fine thread, very tight weave for a more modern look recommended for brushed nickel lamps or lamps with smooth surfaces that are not too elite. For a very formal look we recommend our silk shantung. The silk shantung is a tight weave fine silk threads with some slubs for texture. We have also added our Contessa which is a Metallic printed 100% Woven polyester for a glamorous looking setting.

Some lampshade suppliers refer to this type of fitter as a spider and others a washer. It is a small washer attached to 3 spokes that fits over a harp and locks in place with a finial- see more description on our fitter wire webpage.
I was told that I have a European fitter and can't seem to find a shade that will fit my lamp anywhere. What is a European fitter?
The European fitter more common to European brands are usually an uno fitter, a large flat ring that sits on the lamp base and then locked in by a separate gadget that is usually part of the lamp. The fitter is different from the Uno fitters used in the USA. The USA fitters uses the Edison standards and is usually the same size as your socket and sits tight over the socket and then just locked in place by the light bulb.
